It is Important to feel happy about yourself
Happiness is an important part of our lives, it is important to feel happy about yourself and where you are going in your life.
Are you happy in your life?
And are you happy where you are at in your life?
What about being happy within yourself?
There are many people around the world who don’t have any happiness in their life nor do they experience any kind of real happiness. When people say they are happy – are they just saying it or do they really mean it?
It can be a hard or an easy question to answer it all depends where you are in life and how you feel about yourself. Most people don’t know how to respond to the question. They are unsure; they stop and think “gosh am I really happy in my life?”
So, what is happiness?
it is a feeling of being content within yourself,
- content about life
- it is being positive
- it is feeling proud of yourself and others and
- it is a relief
But it is much more than that…
Happiness is a feeling that is a rush of excitement, you know life is good, you’re in a happy place. You are in control of your happiness and you feel accepting of yourself, you have no fears and you have a sense of well-being and joy.
Why is the meaning of true happiness
True happiness comes from within. It is being at peace with yourself and in life.
In my past
I was always waking up feeling sad because I felt I had nothing left. I couldn’t remember what it felt like to be truly happy. I was depressed for a long time, I had lost that feeling of happiness about life, and for myself. It took me a long time to feel happy again.
I didn’t want to meet someone just to make me feel happy about myself and about life. I wanted to be happy for myself and look forward to all the good things life had to offer.
Most people think they need to find a partner to make them feel happy and all their troubles will be washed away. Some people wait for someone to buy them flowers because it makes them happy.
Some people like to buy things to make them happy thinking it will solve their problems or change the way they are feeling.
Short Story
This story is about a lady who thought buying things will make her happy and resolve her personal problems.
Instead her addition to buying got worse.
Every time she felt down she would go out and buy shoes, clothes, bags all the top brand names. She did this because it made her happy it was her way of feeling that happiness. It gave her a sense of relief, it lifted her spirits up.
However, the downside was that it also put her further into debt.
One day her husband found out where all the money was going he demanded to know what was going on after a few arguments. While she was on her own she had to ask herself a question is buying things making her happy yes is it solving her personal problems ‘No’
If this is you doing this you need to ‘STOP’ all together! This is where you start creating a new habit of not buying things and start looking at the problem the more you do this the better you will feel.
It is important to take notice how you are making yourself feel happy. You don’t need to buy things or have someone to make you happy it has to START with YOU.
Because you are important, there is only ONE you. All it takes is to do something simple and nice for yourself this helps you to look after yourself emotionally and mentally; it helps you to look forward to other enjoyable things.

Simple things
Do something simple.
- go for a walk somewhere nice
- take yourself to see a movie
- shout yourself lunch at a nice cafe
- paint your nails
- or do your hair
They are just samples of little things that can make you feel happy. Doing simple things makes me happy inside and out. I have been spoiling myself by doing small simple things ever since.
Planting a happy seed
Plant a happy seed in yourself, water it every day with positive thoughts and do something small for yourself. If you’re unsure whether you’re really happy about life or yourself here are some questions you can write down…

Ronni, I love this post. You asked ‘what makes me happy’. My answer is ‘I love simplicity, such as caring for my plants, wrapping my hands around a cup of hot beverage on a cold day, hanging out the washing, creating a piece of art work, to name a few examples. Congratulations on another thought provoking Blog. I love what you are doing.
Thank you so much Joy, I am grateful you love this post it is
