Taking a Break – The mini Holiday Treat

Have you taken a break or given yourself a special mini treat?

Taking a break helps rejuvenate your mind and body. It would give you the chance to relieve yourself of stress and be refreshed. One of my favourite ways of taking a break is by going on a mini holiday.

In case you’re already thinking; “I don’t need or want to have to …”

I get it is hard at the moment due to being in the lockdowns however you still need to take that break.

Let me explain why we need to take a holiday.

Taking regular holidays improves self-esteem and personal relationships. It reduces stress levels, depression and anxiety. You become more productive after that break.

We all need to take a break every now and then to refresh our body and mind.

Taking a holiday is one of the BEST benefits for your health. Research studies have shown that taking time away from ones job can have both physical and psychological health benefits.

People who take holidays have lower stress levels, less risk of heart disease, a better outlook on life, and more motivation to achieve goals.

How can a holiday help relieve stress?

If you are feeling stressed about work and it’s affecting you emotionally and mentally, you could be about to burn out. Your mind can only take on so much and it needs some rest; many people have mental break downs because of becoming overstressed and not taking a break.

It can also lead to depression and suicidal thoughts.

It is really important to balance your work and your lifestyle.

How can a holiday improve your health?

It is one of the BEST benefits for your health; it can help you heal quicker than you do at home.

Here are some of the reasons that it is beneficial for your health

  • It gives you a chance to get much needed sleep.
  • It get your mind cleared of worries.
  • Your body needs the rest.
  • You can to do some light activities.
  • You could go exploring.
  • It’s your chance to doing something different.
  • It’s the perfect period for self-reflection.
  • You get to create beautiful memories.

Holiday periods are a time for reflection where you have the opportunity to re-evaluate your life. Not only that, it’s about exploring the beauty around you getting away from all stressor factors.

Taking a holiday helps you to have a rethink about your lifestyle, reducing your work load or maybe changing a few things in your life that might be bringing you down or not making you feel fulfilled.

If you have never taken a holiday or time out for yourself, it is time for you to consider taking that much needed holiday. You might have been thinking about it for a long while, and you’ve kept putting it off from the fear of missing out on things at home or your job.

This might be time for you to consider your priorities – Your health and wellbeing or others? – If you don’t take a holiday it will affect your productivity, your moods, even with making poor decisions; personal relationships begin to suffer and days off work increase due to health issues.

It is rewarding when you return from a holiday where you feel refreshed and relaxed ready to take on life again. Who knows, you might book in for another holiday straight away or change your lifestyle entirely.

I have witnessed people who have changed their lives after being on a mini holiday. Some have moved away and never returned, some have decided to travel the country, some have completely changed their lifestyle, and some learn to live a healthier better life.

I love taking mini weekend breaks, it is refreshing. I feel relaxed and ready to take on a new week.

Three years ago, My partner and I went on a big holiday. It was a must needed holiday so grateful we went when we did.

We went to Tasmania – Australia for a month. It was one of the BEST experience it was absolutely beautiful.

We are looking forward to visiting again.

Traveling had changed me, I had learned a lot about myself and overcame many of my fears of heights and rides and all the adventures we go on. I’ve never had so much fun.

We visited this beautiful small town called ‘Stanley’. I loved this place so much I could easily move to this little town.

We explored all the around the town. We then went up to ‘The Nut’ and it is massive!

It takes about an hour to walk up to the top. It is very steep I had to hold on the side as I’m walking up. I could have got the chair life I decided not to as I love to challenge myself. Walking up was the best experience you get to turn around and see this magical view.

Soon as I got right up the top which is above sea level the view was even MORE magical!

We did a lot of different activities during our trip; it’s all about exploring and feeling good. It brought us closer as a couple and we look forward to traveling more.

Here are a few of my tips for a mini break.

For first time travel;

  • Look for somewhere about a 3-hour drive away; this way it’s an enjoyable drive.
  • Book in advance; most cottages, lodges and beach houses are heavily booked.
  • Make sure it fits in with your budget.
  • Check the transport system if you’ll want to get around.
  • Find out if pets are allowed.
  • Be wise when packing. It is important to pack mixture of clothes in case the weather changes unexpectedly.
  • Be happy about the journey and the destination when you arrive.

Even your pets need a mini holiday; it’s always good for them to have some fun.

Stop making excuses, go on a holiday!

If you’re still just dreaming about it or thinking about it, STOP and just do it!

What is your favourite holiday destination?

Remember, I believe in you
Much Love

  1. I have really enjoyed your post, Ronni. I agree Tasmania is a lovely place to holiday. I’ve been there twice and it is still on my bucket list, for a third visit. Camping is so much fun, as you stated. I found this post so uplifting. Thank you, dear lady.
